THANKS, IKE The Houston Pride Band’s fall concert, Godzilla Eats the Houston Pride Band, had to be rescheduled due to problems caused by Hurricane Ike. This month’s campy concert kicks off the band’s 2008-2009 season, titled Beyond Fences: Music without Borders, with a combined tribute to the King of Rock and Roll and the King of All Monsters. Their fall concert includes Eric Whitacre’s symphonic dramedy, Godzilla Eats Las Vegas, introduced by an army of Elvises. Houston PBS’ Ernie Manouse narrates. ROCKY ICOH Imperial Court of Houston, Inc.: The Space City Empire presents Enthronement VII: From Goth to Grandeur, A Rocky Horror Holiday and Imperial Costume Ball. The evening, honoring leaders Jeff Wallace and Rose Smith, includes dinner, open bar, a three-hour show, and dessert buffet. The group’s Barry Petree Community Commitment Award will be awarded to AIDS Foundation Houston’s Marc Cohen; their GLBT Hall of Fame honors longtime community leader, Marion Coleman. BIG BASKET Each holiday season since 2005, Male Uwear raises money for a lucky local charity via its Holiday Big Basket Raffle.
