‘The Women’
This update of the 1939 film stars Meg Ryan, Debra Messing, Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Bette Midler, Candice Bergen, Carrie Fisher, Cloris Leachman, and Jada Pinkett Smith (who plays a lesbian). ‘Choke’ and ‘Showgirls’
Though Choke is not a gay-themed film, Chuck Palahniuk, the author of the novel, is gay. Choke stars Sam Rockwell and Angelica Huston. Opens September 26 at River Oaks Theatre.
