Jack Richardson III has joined OutSmart magazine as advertising and marketing specialist. Richardson’s experience includes 14 years in radio in Austin, Houston, and Victoria. He most recently worked at KHMX-FM Mix 96.5 as director of programming. His responsibilities included marketing concepts and strategies, concert and event marketing, and charity fundraising. In the community, Richardson volunteers with KPFT-FM 90.1, the Sierra Club, and groups that work for human rights, health-care reform, and environmental protection. Ken Claude, voted Best Massage Therapist in the latest Gayest & Greatest reader survey (“So Gay, So Great,” October 2003) has moved his studio to a new facility, located between Montrose and River Oaks. Pamala Oslie, the author of Life Colors and Make Your Dreams Come True, visits Houston to give workshops on February 10–12. Joe Marcinkowski will soon open a new Metro Retro Furniture location at 1665 Westheimer and Dunlavy. Dedicated to mid-century modern furnishings, Metro Retro sells original vintage pieces and reproductions by some of the era’s famous furniture designers, including Charles and Ray Eames, George Nelson, Jean Pruvé, Arne Jacobsen, and Isamu Noguchi. Owner Marcinkowski collects furniture from the mid-20th century and often locates specific pieces for other avid collectors. Metro Retro’s warehouse is located at 405 Preston in Pasadena.
