The planets are in a lot of particularly strong relationships this month, reflecting the tension that will continue to follow the tragedy in New York and at the Pentagon. Aggressive Mars shows up strongly on the 4th and really makes his presence known on the 7th and 8th. Energies are very strange on the 11th, and this will continue through the 13th. People will be explosive. The 16th is a great day to take off and avoid all schedules and routines. I am sure that Thanksgiving this year will emphasize family and patriotism.

The sun begins in Scorpio but enters Sagittarius on the 22nd, Thanksgiving Day. Mercury is back up to her quick movements starting the month in Libra, entering Scorpio on the 7th and scooting into Sagittarius on the 26th. Venus flows through Libra and wades right into Scorpio on the 8th. Fiery Mars is sparking the air as he moves through Aquarius. Jupiter goes retrograde on the 2nd. The rest of the outer planets are in their same signs respectively.

Scorpio (Oct. 24—Nov. 21) This month you are the most important thing on your list. What should you wear to your birthday party? Should there be a limit on what they spend for your present? You are ready to see yourself in a different reality. Your past is really pulling you down. Old family values are visiting your subconscious. They are trying to introduce fear and loss of freedom. Don't give in to your past; instead, bravely move forward.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22—Dec. 21) You are ready for your spiritual retreat. Get away from routines and seek out the greater meanings of life. Renewal should be at the top of your "to do" list. I know you are worried about your future and whether you are going to make the right decision. But if you don't take time off this month, you will not be able to see the whole picture. Thanksgiving kicks in and you are ready to tackle a lion. There will be no holding you back.

Capricorn (Dec. 22—Jan. 19) Renewing business associations, networking groups, and taking time to visit friends can be really good for business this month. You are focused on your finances. You are not sure where your 401K is headed, the Dow and NASDAQ are headed south, and what about when you are older? Money will make you feel trapped this month. You may have it to spend but are afraid to. At the end of the month, you are ready for a break.

Aquarius (Jan. 20— Feb. 18) Could it get any crazier? Mars, planet of action and reaction, is visiting your breezy sign, making you pro-active and reactive, and your moods will be riding the tilt-a-whirl. You know you like to be in control and detached, but that isn't in your stars this month. We just have to be ready for a more real and raw version of you. Don't try to intellectualize the experience. Just give the man your ticket and get on the ride.

Pisces (Feb. 19—March 20) You do have a month to rest up. You are not so driven to find that illusive pot of security at the end of the rainbow, and you are more philosophic than you have been. You’ll find communicating about new ideas and visiting new places quite uplifting. And make sure you have plans for Thanksgiving other than with your family. You are not ready to be with them, and they are not sure that you’re the person they want to cut the turkey. Career begins to get clearer by the end of the month and on into December.

Aries (March 21—April 19) This is a social month for you with lots of opportunity for travel and visiting with friends. Relationships are much more real this month. You will not be able to avoid the deeper connections for intimacy. You will not be able to get away from these problems especially around the middle of the month. Diversions may help, but getting to your real need for close emotional interaction is the key.

Taurus (April 20—May 20) Relationships are on the menu for this month. You will not want to be alone. And this can be a time of real testing if you are in a relationship and still feel lonely. Work will seem like a great place to hide out from these problems. By mid month, you may feel trapped by this decision. Why not just have dinner with your partner and get these things out in the open. You will feel better and you will make those connections that will alleviate your loneliness. And dessert may be the best part of the meal.

Gemini (May 21—June 21) You are such a little organizer this month, bringing your excellent attention to bear on improving those daily habits and routines–think health, exercise, and diet. Beauty and order, rah rah rah! Tension may be lurking in the office, but Super Rationalizer (that's you) flies in to the rescue, offering everyone a chance to be heard. Then you are off to the next stack of papers. You are certainly more magnanimous than usual. Go for it: It’s a great time to sell yourself . . . or your products.

Cancer (June 22—July 22) Creativity is just oozing from that crab shell. You are just so smooth –you are somehow above all the fray this month and are happy to take on the role of the great Mother Healer, dispensing lollipops to all the good little children. Use your super-energized magnetism to market yourself … or get a good date for the weekend. During the holiday, work in the kitchen. Mom always knows her place of safety and where she is in charge. Grate carrots!

Leo (July 23—Aug. 22) You are certainly drawn to the old home place this month. You may do best if you can create that in your own home rather than make the traditional sacrificial pilgrimage to the holy "I am your parent and can do no wrong" shrine. Your romantic partner may seem distracted. They just want to be in the spotlight, for once, since we know that’s normally your God-given terrain. Don't take a lot of time to pout . . . you may just get ignored.

Virgo (Aug. 23—Sept. 22) Finally, your words come out easily. You can say things and people actually hear you. You have been planning so long and so hard about how to get your act together, the time has arrived to give it the old off-Broadway test–just make sure you’re playing to a receptive audience. Creating personal security, both emotionally and financially, is so important. By the end of the month, it is even more important. Your family is still in turmoil, and you might well avoid going home. There are many rich ways to experience the holidays without blood kin–embrace the experience.

Libra (Sept. 23—Oct. 23) You like balancing so much, this month you are going to balance your checkbook. Money takes over your brain. How much everything costs and how much value you have with your friends and lovers is ever so important. You may be feeling trapped by all of this financial analysis. Don't overreact and ignore what you have learned. By the end of the month, you have a plan to get it all handled. And then it is time for a short trip out of time.
