OUT OF AFRICA

Adrain Bowie returns this month from a six-week sojourn in South Africa. Bowie, along with Jerry Rietz and Jim Winslett, traveled there for Excel International, a laity-led movement affiliated with the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches.

“This is groundbreaking work for us because we want to have a spiritual-renewal weekend for all the South African cultures together,” Bowie said before she left. “What we are saying to them is that now that apartheid is over, let’s all come together.”
