READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL

Stacey Raven plays defensive end/linebacker for the Houston Energy of the Women’s Professional Football League. On September 6, the defending WPFL champs face the San Diego Sunfire in the season home opener. Three more games this month at Rice Stadium include a September 27 match with the Dallas Diamonds. Coached by Robin Henry, the Energy players make far less and enjoy fewer perks than their male counterparts on the Texans. But these women show up to play.
