PORTRAIT OF THE ARTIST

Ryan Fugate re-launches the Positive Art Workshop, the art-class program for individuals with HIV/AIDS, on September 12 at the Houston GLBT Community Center. Patrick Palmer, the much-admired artist and teacher, established the workshop in 1991. Fugate—a Glassell School of Art student and massage therapist—and the center worked with Palmer in taking up the program. Fugate will offer the free classes on alternating Fridays, increasing frequency to weekly as participation grows. (Contact him at Zeroattack@aol.com to register).
