The event for this month that is important is Mars going retrograde in the sign of Pisces. This happens about every two years. And its implication for us is that assertive or aggressive behavior is less directly expressed. And more often than not, it is seen through passive-aggressive behavior. This can be a difficult time if we are expecting things to happen in a timely manner. People just don’t push for things to come to completion. Mars is retrograde from July 29 through September 27.

The days to stay in bed are the 7th, 8th, 19th, 28th, 29th, and the 30th. The days to live and be free are July 1, 4th, 5th, 6th, 10th, 21st, 22nd, and the 25th.

The Sun is in Cancer as the month begins and enters her home sign of Leo on the 23rd. Mercury is tripping through Cancer and then into Leo on the 13th and soon to be in her own sign of Virgo on the 30th. Venus is moving quickly as well, finishing her journey through Gemini and entering Cancer on the 4th, and eventually making it to Leo on the 29th. Mars is in Pisces forever. The rest of the planets are happy where they are. They are not changing for a while.

ARIES (March 21–April 19).

Family security takes the spotlight. Externally, you are working on making your nest an extra comfortable spot. Internally, you are seeking security that allows you to sleep better through the night. You may be extra-judgmental about your accomplishments or lack of them. And family duties will pull on you very strongly during this month. Some of this comes from the expectations you grew up with as a child. Now is the time to be a better parent to your inner child.

TAURUS (April 20–May 20).

You are intent on making your thoughts and ideas known to those around you. You are careful and deliberate about your speech. You are paying more attention to details in your daily life. Friends are especially important this month. They will provide you with a way to break away from your own analysis of your routines. Otherwise, you may seem more cautious than usual to even yourself. Near mid-month, you become more aware of your connection to your family. Career choices still seem elusive. You know what you would like to do, but will it make enough money to support you?

GEMINI (May 21–June 21).

This month, money, security, and career are highlighted. You have become so much more frugal. You are thinking about the return on every investment. The career place is an exciting and volatile place for the next six months. It seems everyone is wearing their ego on their shoulder, just waiting for someone to try and knock it off. Tempers flare but so does creativity. You may want to retreat from the battlefield. And if you had a relationship, wouldn’t that be nice? You would have some place to go and find some solace.

CANCER (June 22–July 22).

Quite a serious birthday month for the moon kids this year! It seems that you are looking at all choices with such depth and thought and feeling that you are almost unable to make a safe decision. And this year is about keeping what works in your life and getting rid of the rest. On the list for reviewing are your relationship, career, family, friends, security drives, and beliefs. It may be very important to buy a book of jokes, so you can have some humor inserted into your life. This is not going to be a funny year. But in the end, you will have achieved a lot.

LEO (July 23–Aug. 22).

You have been so busy, this is a good month for you to take a break. You will be more sensitive than usual, and others may step on your toes accidentally. On a deeper level, you are seeking a renewed connection to your spiritual creator. You are checking in to see if you are taking care of your soul and following the best path to achieve that. Potential relationship partners are everywhere. But you just don’t seem to be able to make a decision about any of it. Even if you have a partner, you are not sure that you really want to keep him/her. Clarity comes in on the 23rd.

VIRGO (Aug. 23–Sept. 22).

Retrograding Mars is visiting your relationship sector. This means that your relationship needs renewing. You can expect an adventure, a challenging experience, anger, confrontation about your past, or you out looking for a new partner. If you are not involved, then you will certainly want to be. And you will not be wasting much time in getting out there to find someone. And you can expect any bad, repetitive, self-destructive, or co-dependent courses of action will show up in you. Or you could just find yourself a mirror/therapist and take the look that is necessary.

LIBRA (Sept. 23–Oct. 23).

Your career sector is totally lit up this month. You are rethinking what you are doing and if you want to continue. And if you choose to continue, you need some new goals and directions to attach your ego to. And if you are not going to continue, you are going to need some new goals and direction to attach to your ego to. And this year, everything must have a specific aim or mission. You’re not going to waste your time on things that don’t have a strong potential for a return. At the end of the month, friends come in to help you with your plan.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24–Nov. 21).

You are feeling lighter this month, even though the people around you are worried about what is happening to them. Your creativity is working well, and you are able to manifest your aims without too much effort. Work is going well, and you are finding many things that are satisfying you there. The only thing that is not going so well is relationships. You really want one that touches your heart and soul. If you are already in one, you will have to revitalize it. Career interest takes over near the end of the month.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22–Dec. 21).

You are in the mood for talking about your money and financial conditions with trusted friends or advisors. You are not sure you are getting what you expect. In your career, you are asking the same question. Is what you are doing really making you feel connected so that you are really secure? And this is not a money question, but one about real satisfaction. Relationships will fall under this same scrutiny. You may not want to push the wagon up the hill again if you are doing it alone.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22–Jan. 19).

Relationships are really setting you off this month. And you will find that this trend is active for the rest of this year. If there are problems, you will not be able to ignore them, no matter how much you work and avoid talking to your partner. This can be a real make-or-break time for your partnerships. They have to work or you will be looking elsewhere. You really want someone to share in your same career goals and directions. And you want them to be a part of your work life. Nothing less will do. At the end of the month, sharing the wealth with this partner is on the menu.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20–Feb. 18).

You are certainly working efficiently this month. And if things are out of order in your life, you will be putting them in their place. You are expecting others to pull their own weight here, and you won’t mind telling them what you expect from them. You can also expect a promotion or new job title where you work. Your boss can’t miss how much you want to be in charge. On the other hand, you are doing exactly what you want or you aren’t doing it. Near the end of the month, you shift your emphasis to your relationships.

PISCES (Feb. 19–March 20).

OK, with Mars in your sign from mid-June through mid-December, you are going to be an active, assertive busy mermaid/merman. You will be taking everything that happens personally. And if others hurt your feelings, you will not be able to protect them from your anger. Mars, planet of fire in a water sign equals a lot of steam. You can start as many new projects as you like before July 25. And during this whole time, you have to come first, every time. People who know you will be surprised to see this side of you.
