BONJOUR, MTV’S REAL WORLD!

Seven Young Adults Live the Fantasy in Paris

Set amid the stunning backdrop of France, this season’s Real World finds six Americans and one Irish gay lad (Simon, pictured above) residing in a charming four-story French chateau located on the outskirts of Paris. Unlike previous seasons, this cast is confronted with a unique challenge of adjusting to a new culture.

Filled with unforgettable experiences of France, this year’s cast finds themselves working as travel writers on Frommer’s Official Guide to Paris. They report on Paris’s nightlife and hot spots at exclusive clubs along the Champs Élysées, local pubs in Bastille, and trips through the Marais for a true Parisian shopping experience. Toward the middle of the season, viewers will get the chance to vacation with the cast as they set out on an unforgettable journey throughout Europe.

Included in the seven cast members is Simon, 18, a native to Ireland, who lives at home and goes to high school in a small village about an hour outside Dublin. His family’s acceptance of his sexuality has allowed Simon to live an openly gay life. Since he was 16, Simon has spent his weekends enjoying the gay scene in Dublin. Simon has a great sense of humor and a quick wit, yet is remarkably mature for his age. Simon met his Spanish boyfriend on New Year’s Eve, a few weeks before moving to Paris. Aware of the temptations of Paris nightlife, Simon plans to stay faithful. A working model with a flair for fashion, this handsome European intends to go to college, but has yet to apply to schools because he’s unsure about his career goals.

At press time, MTV had scheduled to premiere the 13th season of The Real World Paris with a special one-hour episode on Tuesday, June 3, at 9 p.m., with the series continuing to air on Tuesday nights in its regular scheduled timeslot of 9–9:30 p.m.
