Tom Fricke has joined OutSmart as general manager.
Before joining the magazine, Fricke owned and
operated The Lovett Inn for 15 years. He recently
sold the Montrose bed-and-breakfast hotel. As
a founder of the Houston GLBT Chamber of Commerce,
and through his involvement with and support
of local organizations and businesses, he brings
a wealth of community experience to the magazine.

Dolores Varela has joined OutSmart as an advertising
account executive. Varela worked for the city
of Houston at the administration/supervisory
level for 13 years before joining the magazine.
She has also manager a catering company, owned/managed
a contracting company, and worked as a bartender.

John Schilling is the new general manager of

Pride Institute, the nationwide provider of

for the GLBT population, recently promoted Marty
Perry, the program director at the Pride Institute
program in Dallas, to the position of executive
director of the national Pride Institute organization
located in Minneapolis/Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Randy Martin is the new program director for
the Pride Institute in Texas. Martin joins Pride
Institute after several years of counseling work
at community counseling centers in Dallas and
Irving. The Pride Institute has facilities in

On March 16, Mike Roberson, one of the co-owners
