SPRING IS HERE

April 26 means fish and pancakes. On the same day, the Rainbow Fishing Club reels in Gulf creatures on its first deep-water trip of the season, and the flapjack flippers at Bering Memorial United Methodist Church dish up the annual all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast. The pancake-fortified Bering Spring Festival, chaired by Alan York, includes the renowned rummage sale.

On the subject of faith, the Rev. Elder Troy Perry, founder of the Metropolitan Community Church, will preach at both April 27 services at Resurrection MCC as part of the weekend of activities marking the 30th anniversary of the congregation. These celebratory events include the April 25 Masque Ball at the downtown Doubletree and an April 26 golf tournament at Bear Creek Golf Course. The Rev. Dwayne Johnson is Resurrection senior pastor.
