WORTH WATCHING
I was so pleased to see Hillary Woest featured
as one of the 30 people to watch in 2003 [January
2003]. Of course, I have been "watching" her all
her life and am happy to say that her selfless
dedication, energy, creativity, courage, and commitment
to others are nothing new. It is a wonderful thing
when the parent can learn from the child, and
I continue to learn good things from Hillary every
day. Thank you for including her in your article.
I agree that 2003 will be a great year for her
and for our community.

Having lived in Houston for 15 years and being
"somewhat" involved in the gay community, it is
refreshing to see your organization and magazine
doing so well and providing a medium for the gay
community that actually is worth reading and provides
informative information, news, and commentary,
and not just bar ads and items of that nature.
For many years most of the gay publications in
Texas were not worth reading, let alone taking
home, and with OutSmart, that has
now all changed.
Edwin Leslie
Houston
We included Leslie in "People to Watch 2003"
in the January issue. He is executive vice president
and CFO of Heights Hospitality Corporation and
managing partner of British American Properties
III, Ltd.
FAN OF JANE
I just finished reading the interview Blase [DiStefano]
did with Jane Olivor ["The Unexpected Jane," December
2000]. Wonderful interview, wonderful interviewee,
and wonderful interviewer. I do so miss her music.
I learned to appreciate her so much more from
the interview. Thanks.

Since Blase's interview, the singer has launched
www.janeolivor.com.
In 2001, she released a holiday album, Songs
of the Season, including one written for her
by composer Stephen Schwartz (Godspell,
Pippin, Pocahontas).
CORRECTIONS
In "Good Heavens" in the January issue, some
dates in the Uranus and Neptune section of Leo
were incorrect. This is the correct listing from
astrologer Lilly Roddy:
Uranus and Neptune. Those of you born
August 19 through the 23rd or with planets in
this area can expect to feel very restless in
relationships. You are looking for excitement,
and you are not willing to tolerate the boredom
of the routines that you and your partner have
established. And there are many outlets for this
boredom, such as changing routines, couple's therapy,
or seeking out a new partner. But you will not
tolerate the past terms. Those of you born August
3 through the 8th or with planets in those degrees
are looking for your soul mate. The connections
that you and your partner need have to go way
beyond what most people expect to find in a partnership.
We could call this psychic bonding. Be careful,
you could feel it even if the person is unconsciously
projecting. February and June will be times when
your psychic sensitivity is especially strong.
Because of a printer error, part of Gregg Shapiro's
article "Divas in Distress" did not appear in
the February issue. The full text can be read
