An
elderly woman, "widowed" when her companion
of 50 years dies in 1961
A feminist coed discovering
her attraction to an outsider in 1972
A loving
couple eager to experience parenthood in 2000.
Three
couples
three different decades. Women, bonded
by an unconventional love and a struggle, as lesbians,
to establish an identity in a society that has been
ambivalent about accepting them.
If
These Walls Could Talk 2 is an intimate look at
the lesbian experience in America in different social
and political climates from the '60s to the millennium,
as told in three different love stories. Ellen DeGeneres
(Love Letter), who also executive produces, and Sharon
Stone (Simpatico); Vanessa Redgrave (Cradle Will Rock);
and Chloë Sevigny (Boys Don't Cry) and Michelle Williams
(Dawson's Creek) star.
Made
about and by women, If These Walls Could Talk 2
follows in the vein of its predecessor, If These
Walls Could Talk, by offering a daring and adult
perspective on women's social issues, and boasts such
talented filmmakers as "1961" writer-director
Jane Anderson (The Baby Dance); "1972" director
Martha Coolidge (HBO's Introducing Dorothy Dandridge);
"2000" writer-director Anne Heche (Wag the
Dog); "1972" writers Sylvia and Alex Sichel
(All Over Me); and executive producers Suzanne Todd
and Jennifer Todd (Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged
Me).
The
film also features Kathy Najimy (Veronica's Closet),
Elizabeth Perkins (Crazy in Alabama), Mitchell
Anderson (Relax...It's Just Sex), Regina King
(How Stella Got Her Groove Back), Nia Long (The
Best Man), and Natasha Lyonne (American Pie).
Debuts
on HBO, Sunday, March 5 at 8 p.m. (check local listings
