March Astrocast

One of the more significant dates this month is March 24, when Mercury goes stationary direct or forward. Essentially this means that you can start new projects after March 17, Saint Patricia’s Day. And for those of you who are more familiar with astrology, Pluto goes stationary retrograde on March 15. Days of excessive tension are March 2–3, 14–16, 23, 30–31. Days of excessive joy are March 6–7, 9, 18, and 25–26.

Pisces (Feb. 19–March 20) Mercury is retrograding in your sign this month, making this a big time of review for you in all facets of your life. So, get ready to clean out those closets, desk, and attics. Mainly, get yourself out of the closet so you can have more room for your stuff. You are going to want to look at where you have been more than where you are going. If there are problems at work or with your lifepartner, expect those to jump out and grab you. You will have a hard time being quiet about all that is going on. The unedited truth will find its way out of your mouth no matter how hard you try to keep it in. So, don't. The end of the month is much smoother and that will be the time to start your new birthday projects.

Aries (March 21–April 19) This month is a time to spend in reflection. You are more sensitive than usual to your environment, friends, and grouchy co-workers. And you are not going to be very diplomatic either. Romantic relationships can either be very spontaneous and full of fireworks or full of temper tantrums and finger pointing. Try to remember that you are the one who is in the sensitive phase. At work you are more creative if left to yourself. Bosses who like to look over your shoulder will drive you CRAZY this month. Just like a flower bud opening her petals to the Sun, all will be well again with the first day of spring.

Taurus (April 20–May 20) March is the month to review current friendships—time to get rid of all those negative so-and-so’s, and get some new pals. You are ready. Don’t be surprised if you just find yourself totally bored with people who you have been connected to over the years. Don’t feel badly, it’s just the cycle of change: Prune off that deadwood, make room for fresh spring growth. Don't be surprised if this same feeling bleeds over into your career. Likewise at your job, change is a-looming here too. When the job tedium hits, don’t hesitate to get that résumé in shape. You will be glad that you have created some options for yourself.

Gemini (May 21–June 21) Big time review of career goals, directions, and life choices for this month. Don’t make any permanent decisions until after March 17. If there are problems showing up, take that as a gift with which to better see your situation. Romance and relationships are still on unstable ground, especially at the beginning of the month. You may want to hide your relationship problems by overloading yourself at work: Your social life may be better and business chat can be profitable, but do keep the conversations light.

Cancer (June 22–July 22) You are really open to new ideas and other people’s points of view. You are really ready to put yourself into your career, but be careful about starting new initiatives until after Saint Patricia’s Day. By the time we reach the first day of spring, you will be totally focused on career goals and dreams of future security. But all work and no play is no fun, so take some time to renew your interest in social, community, or business associations. There are some real finds here both for love and money. Travel, too, could be great for your soul this month.

Leo (July 23–Aug. 22) Lots of questions arise this month about whether or not your lover really values you for the person you are. You will begin to feel used if you don’t have a discussion about this. You are just looking for reassurance. If this shows up as money problems between you two, this is just a thin disguise for what is really at the heart of the matter. You still may have to wade through the money stuff to get to what is really wrong. Work and relationships heat up after the 23rd. So, if you are waiting for a time to get motivated, that will be the day.

Virgo (Aug. 23–Sept. 22) Your relationships are on review. If you are having real problems, this can be a time when you end your current relationship. Even if things are perfect, you are still looking at what direction you and your partner need to go. Some strong commitment aspects are just around the corner and you can expect to see them in June. Your career is really opening up. Get ready. You are going to be exceptionally busy. Get all you can organized this month because you won’t have the time as summer begins.

Libra (Sept. 23–Oct. 23) This is a great month to redecorate the work place. Disorganization and things out of place are on your pet peeves list. You may want to move out some of your co-workers. If you ask them nicely enough, they just may go. And make sure that you eat healthy, get plenty of rest, and see the doctor; you are more susceptible to stress at the work place than normal. In your relationships, you want some adventure—especially after the 23rd, when the passion and intensity really heat up!

Scorpio (Oct. 24–Nov. 21) Your creative juices are flowing this month. You’re itching for problems to solve and worthy forums to show off your bodacious talents. And those horizons to conquer better be fun: If you’re not having a good time, you’re really just not interested. But as spring approaches, you’ll start settling down and making some long-term commitments in both career and relationships. The serious time will be here then. Until then, play play play.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22–Dec. 21) I hope you have plans for going back and visiting your family and your genetic karmic roots. Because planned or not, this is what you are going to do. You have a longing to see the old homeplace ... even if the old homeplace is reminiscent of a Stephen King novel. All this revisiting and re-evaluating can, of course, be done in the privacy and relative safety of your therapist’s office. At your own home, you are fixing things up. You will want a nurturing environment to let those ghosts of Christmas past out of the attic and eventually out of your life for good.

Capricorn (Dec. 22–Jan. 19) You know all those little jobs and projects that you have been putting off for the last four months? This is the month to dig in and finish them up. I know, they are everywhere and your list seems endless. But, being a Capricorn, you’ll find you won’t be able to rest until you have completed them all. Honor this instinct; ride that Capricorn bulldozer to completeness. If you don’t have all the many tasks completed by the 17th, you will not be encouraged to finish them again until the end of June. As spring arrives, so does spring fever. You are really looking for something exciting and different in your love life. If boredom sets in with your current partner, you will be out looking for greener pastures.

Aquarius (Jan. 20– Feb. 18) You are getting those finances in order, paying old bills, and dealing with any problems that you have been able to avoid in the past. This is a great month to do that. Be careful that you don't become a penny pincher with all this refound focus on your money consciousness. A place that you will want to spend your money is on your home or apartment. You could even move or buy that home that you have been planning on. By the end of the month, you are more restless than usual and your temper is showing. Look for some new adventures that get you away from your routines.
