Texas Medical Center Orchestra: Charlie Chaplin at the Symphony

Saturday, October 28, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - Sunday, October 29, 2017 @ 4:00 pm

Please join the Texas Medical Center Orchestra in celebrating its season opener featuring Dan Kamin. In the first half, watch the sparks fly as The Classical Clown battles the maestro for control of the orchestra. It’s a symphonic showdown set to the serious sounds of Beethoven, Grieg, Britten and Stravinsky. In the second half, Dan Kamin introduces two timeless Chaplin comedies, Easy Street and The Immigrant, accompanied by terrific new symphonic scores by Grant Cooper.

Established in November 2000 and celebrating its 18th season, the Texas Medical Center Orchestra is one of very few community orchestras in the United States and in the world with its origin in the health professions. The mission of the orchestra is to provide a fellowship in music and medicine for its members, contribute culturally to the community, and raise awareness for medical and other local charities through its concerts. Come and see why the Texas Medical Center Orchestra is just the right medicine.
