Second Annual National Mental Health & Dignity Day
Sunday, May 3, 2015 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
This is an unofficial kick-off event for May for National Mental Health Month.
This event is about getting people actively engaged in having a #PositivePublicDialog on talking about mental illness out in the bright sunlight of day just where it belong. The social stigma that is still so yoked to mental illness even after 4000+ years needs to be destroyed or that the very least be demystified. This event is to let people know that they DO NOT have to walk their path alone when they are down in that deep dark valley. They will walk out of it.
Thank you to our Allies (for coving the cost of producing this event) as of this moment they are: The Walk for Mental Health Awareness – Houston, Senator Sylvia R Garcia, Judge Steven Kirkland, Legacy Community Health Services, St. Rep. Carol Alvarado, Houston Area Community Services (HACS).
Our Host Committee Members are SARDAA, Prosumers Houston, Houston Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities, Body Love 4 All, NAMI Greater Houston,
Our supporters are Unlimited Vision Aftercare, League of Women Voters – Houston.
