Professional Car Society’s Car Show

Saturday, June 13, 2015 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Free

Start your engines! The National Museum of Funeral History is hosting the Professional Car Society’s Car Show, a unique car show featuring exquisitely-restored and authentically-preserved professional vehicles.

If you love cars or are looking for a fun way to spend a day with the family, you’ll enjoy viewing and learning about vintage fire trucks, ambulances, flower cars, funeral coaches, and livery vehicles from all over North America.

In tribute to those whose lives were lost during 9/11, a retired FDNY fire truck used for the tragedy’s rescue and recovery will be on site. The highlight of 28 firefighter funerals, the truck’s appearance at the car show will be accompanied by a flag-draped casket and a performance by the Houston Fire Department’s pipes and drums ensemble.

Finish off your day with a tour of the museum where you’ll see a rare collection of funeral service artifacts including horse-drawn hearses, hand-carved “fantasy coffins” from Ghana, West Africa, and Presidential funeral memorabilia.
