Pianist Adam Tendler in concert at the Rothko Chapel

FreeThe Rothko Chapel is preparing to celebrate and experience the power of a piano.
The nonprofit, located at 3900 Yupon St. in Houston, will be hosting internationally renowned American pianist Andy Tendler for a free concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 20. There is a $10 suggested donation.
The program will include works by Nico Muhly, Earle Brown, Marina Poleukhina, Charlie Sdraulig, Morton Feldman and Philip Glass.
Tendler has performed solo recitals in across the U.S., including engagements at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, National Sawdust, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Baryshnikov Arts Center, the Maverick Concert Hall and the Fisher Center at Bard College. He was also the first musical performer at James Turrell’s Skypace in Sarasota Florida. He has been praised by the Los Angeles Times, the New Yorker, Time Out New York and the Baltimore Sun.
