Houston, TX – February 12, 2017 – Houston artist Maria Bordelon presents “Folded Forms”. This exhibition represents Bordelon’s first solo exhibition. The works of cage wire, softwoods and wood veneers are the materials of choice to make the sculptures. The works are unassuming, standing forms or wall hung. The use of simple forms and simple shapes are at the beginning of the creativity.

This exhibit follows Bordelon’s recent inclusion in The Big Show at Lawndale Gallery where she was named one of the Top Ten of 2016 with her piece Folded Form-Gehry.

Maria Bordelon is represented by Samara Gallery, Houston, TX

Maria Bordelon was born in New Orleans, LA and received a BFA in Interior Design from Louisiana Tech in 1973 and is the owner of Bordelon Design Associates in Houston. She also holds an MLA in Art History for the University of St. Thomas and a Certificate from the Glassell School of Art at MFAH.
