LMNOP: A New Muzical

Tuesday, April 7, 2015 @ 7:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

TUTS Underground, the edgy sister of American musical theater, this month brings Houston LMNOP: A New Muzical by Scott Burkell and Paul Loesel. Based on the Mark Dunn novel Ella Minnow Pea, it’s the story of an island, government extremism, mob mentality, and a single lone voice of reason. Basically it’s about letters that start falling off a monument, and then the government bans the people from using those letters. Only one teenage girl rebels against the ban.

TUTS calls it “part romance, part clever word game, and part adult fable that reminds us of how precious our liberties are and how important it is to have the courage to stand up for what we believe.”

On April 10 there will be a free post-curtain discussion with a panel of judges, lawyers, and law enforcement about censorship and freedom of speech.

A captivating story you’ll n_v_r forg_t!
