The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts to Host Instrumental Middle School Workshops
One-of-a-Kind Opportunity for Students to Learn from HSPVA’s Finest Musicians
Middle school students in the greater Houston area are invited to attend an Instrumental Workshop hosted by The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA). Students will have the opportunity to participate in one of three workshops, including All-Region Band, All-Region String or Jazz Improvisation.
All workshops will include instruction on audition skills, performance technique, and musicality on your instrument. The workshops will be led by HSPVA’s Instrumental Music Department faculty and the program’s best String, Wind, Brass and Rhythm section players.
All participating students are asked to bring their instrument, music stand and a pencil.
To purchase tickets online, visit hspvainstrumentalworkshop.eventbrite.com. If you have questions, contact Stephen Crawford, [email protected] or call the main office at 713-942-1960.
This workshop serves as a fundraiser for the HSPVA Instrumental Music Department. The mission of the HSPVA Music Department is to provide students highly specialized and rigorous musical training, fostering an appreciation for the arts, guiding them on their journey towards graduation and post-graduation studies as future performers and arts advocates. The HSPVA Music Department’s primary aim is to promote the musical intelligence and potential of each student. They develop this potential through active participation in large and small ensembles, group and individual technical instruction, and interaction with performing artists.
