Houston Black Heritage Festival

The Houston Black Heritage Music & Arts Festival takes place Sept. 30, 2017 @ Discovery Green featuring Eric Benet and many others to be announced. The festival is a celebration of art, music, and culture. Our Mission is to develop and execute events that support direct services and programs related to health and wellness, financial empowerment, and education.To create opportunities for self expression in the creative arts: music, poetry, dance, and theatre by producing the annual Houston Black Heritage Festival.
Tickets go on sale July 14, 2017

LOCATION
QUESTION: Where is the event taking place?
ANSWER: Discovery Green 1500 McKinney Street Houston, TX 77010.

QUESTION: Where can I park?
ANSWER: Several parking options – including metered street parking, parking garages and surface lots – are conveniently available to park visitors. See Downtown Houston’s interactive parking map.

PLEASE NOTE: Always read the posted signs, which supersede any instruction from park staff. Houston Police can and will issue tickets for illegal parking.

Metered Parking. Streets on the park’s perimeter and nearby streets offer metered parking. Parking meter stations on each block accept Visa/MasterCard and cash. Metered parking is in effect Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 6 pm.

Handicap Parking. A citizen with a valid handicap placard or veteran plate is allowed to park in a regular metered space without paying provided there are no other restrictions such as time restrictions by signage.

Surface lots. Lots are available around the perimeter of the park and on nearby streets. Rates vary and many accept Visa/MasterCard and cash.

Garage parking. Several parking garages offer convenient access to Discovery Green. Check Downtown Houston’s interactive parking map for a complete list of options.

QUESTION: Is this an outside event?
ANSWER: Yes, although the stage are covered.

QUESTION: Is this an alcohol-free event? Can I buy individual drinks or bottle service?
ANSWER: This is not an alcohol-free event. Individual drinks purchases will be available. Bottle service is not available.

QUESTION: Is there a VIP Pass?
ANSWER: Yes VIP tickets are purchased and must be purchased before the event starts.

QUESTION: What do I get with the VIP package?
ANSWER: Admission into the VIP entrance gate(s), daily colored wrist band, and Open Seating in the reserved seating section.

QUESTION: Is there a VIP Bathroom?
ANSWER: No

QUESTION: When I purchase the VIP package, do I get a reserved seat?
ANSWER: Purchasing the VIP package will allow access to open seating with the daily colored wrist band in the reserved seating section.

QUESTION: When do I get my VIP membership card?
ANSWER: Arrangements can be made to mail the membership card two weeks prior to the festival or patrons can pick up their card at will-call on the day of the festival.

QUESTION: If I leave, can I return without paying again?
ANSWER: No, there is no ‘In’ and ‘Out’. If you leave the festival, you must pay to re-enter.

QUESTION: What time will the gate open?
ANSWER: One hour before the festival start time.

REFUNDS

QUESTION: Are refunds available?
ANSWER: No, refunds are not available. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. The Houston Black
Heritage Music & Arts Festival will take place rain or shine. The Festival may delay the start, interrupt or even cancel a concert if an emergency (Act of God) occurs. Refunds are not given due to inclement weather (unless catastrophic).

Squirt Guns, Toy Guns, or anything else that resembles a weapon
Unauthorized or Unlicensed Vending.
Prescriptions must be in a marked bottle, with corresponding ID

** No items will be returned if on the “not acceptable” list above and are confiscated. Security has the discretion of not permitting any questionable items.

SECURITY
QUESTION: Will security search each festival attendee upon entrance?
ANSWER: Yes, each patron and their belongings will be searched by private security upon entrance in to the festival.
