Lawndale Art Center is pleased to inaugurate the fall season with exhibitions by Sterling Allen (O’Quinn Gallery) and Katherine Trimble (Project Space), opening Friday, September 8, 2017 at 6 PM.

In his newest work, Backdrop & Blocker, Allen creates a site-specific, sculpture-based installation that activates the sight lines, architectural relationships and spatial connections in Lawndale’s O’Quinn Gallery. Upstairs in the Project Space, Katherine Trimble has created a vastly different site-specific work with Touch Box, an immersive site-specific installation that challenges our intake and perceptions of sound. In conjunction with these exhibitions, Lawndale is excited to announce the commissioning of two new essays by artist and critic Betsy Huete and art historian Melissa Warak, Ph.D., who will be writing on the work of Sterling Allen and Katherine Trimble, respectively.
