Director’s Faculty Artist Series: Samuel Barber Tribute

The Moores School of Music will celebrate the music of Samuel Barber (1910-1981), the gifted American Composer who infused expressive romantic lyricism into 20th-century classical music. Pre-concert remarks and program notes will be given by Dr. Howard Pollack, UH John and Rebecca Moores Professor of Music History. The performance will showcase 13 faculty members from the string, wind, voice and keyboard areas. Works will include Dover Beach, Summer Music, Piano Sonata, Knoxville: Summer of 1915 and the String Quartet.
