The Assistance League of Houston announces the sixty artists accepted for the 38th annual philanthropy event, Celebration of Texas Art 2017. With entries open to all artists residing in Texas, 279 artists submitted a total of 715 pieces and there are currently 22 artists on the waiting list. The exhibition is free to the public and artists will be awarded $4,000 for first place, $2,000 for second place and $3,000 for third place on the Opening Night where the juror will also provide an information tour of the art.
The Assistance League of Houston, a volunteer group committed to serving the educational and emotional needs of children and young adults, as well as families in crisis in the greater Houston area. Celebration of Texas Art 2017, a juried art show that evolved from a simple art exhibition over 35 years ago to showcase the work of today’s artists from all across Texas.
