Diabetes Alert Dogs make great companions, but more importantly they have the potential to save their owner’s life. These trained canines can identify and alert patients with Type 1 Diabetes that their blood sugar is falling and in extreme cases take measures into their own paws and alert 911.

NCS employee, Jon Cheverere knows first-hand the lifesaving role his Diabetic Alert Dog, Maggie plays in his life. Maggie is with Jon 24/7 and has become just as much a part of the NCS team now as her owner.

Realizing the life-saving companionship Maggie offers Jon, NCS wants to do the same for others. Partnering with Thistle Ridge Terriers, NCS will host a golf tournament this fall to raise money to cover the cost of the service dogs for others in need.
