In Houston, the name Ray Hill is synonymous with “activism.” On April 4, KPFT Radio will host a roast and gala in honor of Hill, who is the longtime former host of the station’s “The Prison Show,” an activist for prisoner rights, an advocate for LGBT rights, and an overall mover and shaker within the community.

The event will be held at the Hilton University of Houston (4800 Calhoun Rd), with doors opening at 6 p.m. Hill will be roasted by Mayor Annise Parker, Houston Sheriff Adrian Garcia, and numerous other Houston leaders. The evening will include a cash bar, silent auction, dinner, and more.

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at rayhillroast.brownpapertickets.com. For more information, contact Robin Lewis at [email protected] or 713-526-4000.
