Dr. Angela Sturm, a plastic surgeon at Facial Plastic Surgery Associates, was recently named the Women’s Chamber of Commerce Texas Business Woman of the Year (TBOY): “Texas Blazing Star” of 2013. The Blazing Star Awards were announced at the MAPcon + TBOY Conference and Awards event on November 7, 2013 in Austin, Texas.
This prestigious distinction recognizes business women who are on the fast track to success, and follow their own path to get there. The event is presented by the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Texas and is known as the “Academy Awards” for Texas business women. The coveted awards are given to business owners and professional women in Texas, whose style and drive go above and beyond setting them apart from the crowd.

Dr. Sturm attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, where she was awarded her M.D. in 2006. She completed residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in 2011. After residency, she entered the distinguished American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship program and over the course of a year trained side-by-side with Dr. Russell Kridel to gain extensive expertise in cutting edge head and neck surgical techniques.
During her medical training, she received numerous awards for surgical excellence, including the Outstanding Otolaryngology Medical Student Award and the top medical student research prize from the national academy of Otolaryngology. Dr. Sturm has also co-authored and published medical journal articles on head and neck surgical techniques, as well as facial plastic surgical techniques.
Passionate about working to rejuvenate our community, Dr. Sturm is also involved with the Houston Area Women’s Center, Greater Houston Area Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Houston and The Face Foundation. Dr. Sturm is chief of staff at Houston Hospital for Specialized surgery. She also works at Park Plaza, Kirby Glen Ambulatory Surgery Center, Methodist Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital and Memorial Hermann Hospital and accepts insurance for medically necessary surgical procedures.
