DC police probe 2 attacks on transgender women

D.C. police are investigating two more in a series of attacks on transgender people.

Two attacks occurred early Saturday morning. Police say shortly after 4 a.m., a transgender woman was shot during a robbery attempt in the area of 5th and K streets, Northeast. The woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are looking for two men in that attack.

About a half-hour earlier, in another part of the city, police say a transgender woman was sexually assaulted by a man who offered her a ride.

Early Thursday morning, a transgender woman was assaulted and shot. Police are looking for suspects in that attack.
