Milestones

Died  Longtime Houston resident Jerel Brent McNeil died May 20, 2012, after a brief battle with esophageal cancer. Known as a tireless fundraiser for the LGBT community, McNeil devoted time and talent to AFH Camp Hope for children, Empire of the Royal Sovereign and Imperial Court of the Single Star, ICOH: The Space City Empire, the Colt 45’s, and as a member of the comedic Debris Sisters drag ensemble. McNeil is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Coriene McNeil, and his brother, Monte McNeil. He is survived by his partner, Rusty Mueller of Houston, his daughter, Cindi McNeil, and a host of loving family and friends. A celebration of life honoring McNeil was held June 2.
