The United Nations Association (Houston Chapter) will sponsor the 3rd Annual International Film Festival (UNAFF) on February 3-5 at the University of St. Thomas in Houston.
UNAFF celebrates the power of films dealing with human rights, environmental themes, population, migration, women’s issues, refugees, homelessness, racism, health, universal education, war and peace. UNAFF has screened some of the most awarded and talked about documentaries in the industry including five that went on to win Academy Awards.
Twelve films from 12 nations will be presented, at the festival, most in the original languages with English narration. There will also be four panel discussions with experts and community leaders on issues such as gender equality, global education, media and politics, and refugee and border conflicts.
