The diminutive Ivory Queen of Soul passed away unexpectedly in December 2010, but not before she gifted us with the rousing, rapping “Lovergirl” at the peak of her popularity in the ’80s. The powerhit is framed by “The Once and Future Dream” with former mentor Rick James, and “Can’t Last a Day” with Faith Hill, and other tunes, but oddly, her 1981 hit, “Square Biz,” is not included here.
