Larry Jackson and the inimitable Clive Davis produced The Slim One’s pitch-perfect follow-up to her Grammy-winning 2009 release. The title track is based on a poem written by Hudson herself, and it, along with “No One Is Gonna Love You,” “Don’t Look Down,” “Why Is It So Hard,” “I Got This,” plus the commercially recognizable “Feelin’ Good,” may all be thinly veiled references to Hudson’s weight-loss journey.
