Lilly Roddy’s May 2010 Astrocast

Lilly Roddy

Guess what – the intensity increases.

by Lilly Roddy

This month begins an increasing intensity brought on by the alignment of the planets. We should see this culminating in June and July. The effects are both global and personal. In our country, we should see an increase in the “us vs. them” mentality. In your personal life, you will need to face certain issues that must be dealt with. Sometimes we can embrace this and move forward, and at other times we will resist with all our might. Look for this to be very strong during the week of the 16th through the 23rd. • On the good news front, Mercury does go direct on May 15, so making decisions and plans should work out. (For those of you who like more detail, Uranus moves into Aries on the 27th, for the first time in 86 years. Saturn goes direct on the 30th, and Neptune goes retrograde on the 31st. The Sun starts the month in Taurus and moves into Gemini on the 20th. Mercury remains in Taurus as it goes direct. Venus is making her way through Gemini and floats into Cancer on the 19th.)

ARIES (March 21–April 19). This month you focus on money, resources, and your own self-worth. You are already feeling a lot of external pressure to perform well at work and in your relationships. You will feel a need to be appreciated or you will not be a happy person. Many of you are considering new places to work. You are feeling trapped, so make sure that you have a very flexible schedule at the end of the month. Make sure that your relationships are a part of this general cleanout you are doing.

Happy Birthday Taurus!

TAURUS (April 20–May 20). Happy Birthday to the Taureans. With Mercury retrograde in your sign as the month opens, you are much more reflective than usual. Many of you won’t really feel like celebrating your special time until after May 15. Family still has you restless, and you may feel that you are not getting the support at home that you expect. By the end of the month, you will need some time to yourself to sort all of this out. Overall, you are getting more organized and are clearer about your decisions.

GEMINI (May 21–June 21). You are in a rest-and-retreat mode this month. This can be a good month for planning and taking time to gain some perspective. Your ruler, Mercury, goes direct on the 15th when your energy begins to return. By the end the month, you are ready for action. This is a great time for you to consider group activities or community involvement. You are ready to make some changes and take a more decisive leadership role. Take a long break during the Memorial Day weekend—you will need it.

CANCER (June 22–July 22). I know most of the Moon Kids can feel the upcoming shifts—that is why you are so unsettled. Cancers never like to have their homes messed with, and this feels just like that. Many of you are right on the edge of making some major life decisions. Rest assured: this is the time for it. For many of you, your work and career plans need to change and grow beyond what they have been in the past. For some, this is reinvention; for others, retirement. Expect to have some real clarity about this as you get closer to your birthday. Keep a handle on your spending—you are more impulsive than usual.

LEO (July 23–August 22). After May 15, it will finally be time for you to act on all of the energy that has been building in you since the December holidays. Your career and your financial security are calling you this month. This can be a time to take a leadership role at work, or even to consider changing jobs or starting your own company. Toward the end of the month, friends and associates can be very helpful to you. Networking can be a perfect way for you to promote yourself career-wise. Relationships are a bit edgy, but most of that is really about your frustrations at work spilling over into your relationships.

VIRGO (August 23–September 22). With your ruler, Mercury, going direct on May 15, this is a good relationship time for most of you. If you are single, this is a great time to get out and meet someone new. If you are involved, this is a great time to enjoy your partner. And for my polyamorous friends, you can do both! You are still in your retreat mode and aren’t ready to put yourself out there. After the 20th, you are ready to get back into your routines. Career activity is strengthened. Like the rest of the signs, take advantage of the long Memorial Day weekend.

LIBRA (September 23–October 23). You are finally getting some relief from all of the heaviness you have felt during the last couple of months. It picks back up on the 29th, so enjoy this “rest” in May. You are looking at major life changes. This is making you reconsider what you do, who you are, and whom you think you are attracted to. Don’t be afraid to ask your friends and loved ones for support and help. You have always been helpful to them. This is the time your investment should pay some dividends. Use this month to get some distance and clarity about what you are going through.

SCORPIO (October 24–November 21). Relationships are the main focus for this month. With Mercury retrograde in your relationship sector, this has been a time of reviewing your relationship history. For those of you with an ongoing conflict in your partnership, this is the time it needs to be corrected, or that partnership may come to an end. This intensity lightens up after the 15th. You are quite ready to get your career projects started, and you have plenty of energy and follow-through in the last half of the month. As June begins, you will need some rest and retreat.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22–December 21). Last month and this month you are paying a lot of attention to your health and work habits. You have had to really look at some things you have been avoiding. The exact problem may be difficult to diagnose until after the 15th. You have been burning the candle at both ends recently, and I’m sure that has contributed to the problem. Relationships re-enter the picture toward the end of the month. You want to be alone, so this is a good time to meet someone new.

CAPRICORN (December 22–January 19). Finally, a break in the action and intensity that you have been feeling. Try to gain some perspective about what has been going on. You need some distance, because you have been overly focused on the project at hand. The intensity level will resume at the end of the month, so you have to respond now. Your career is really pushing your boundaries. Don’t over-commit or you will be sorry. In fact, back away from some of your assumed duties. There is a part of you that really wants to do something different. Get ready to get back on the horse in June.

AQUARIUS (January 20–February 18). I know most of you can feel that sense of excitement about doing something different. Your ruler, Uranus, is about to change signs for the first time in seven years, so the Water-Bearers need to be looking at new projects, reinvigorating what they are currently doing, and preparing for a brand-new adventure. For most of you, this requires more focus on yourself than you usually have. You are working on transforming your home/nest into a more comfortable place, and finishing up old projects is the theme. After mid-month, it is time to move forward. Don’t neglect your relationship partners—they are feeling needier than usual.

PISCES (February 19–March 20). You were probably ready for the period of rest you have been having. You have been busy this year, and this won’t really stop until next year. This is a great time for most anything, including over-indulgence. After the 15th, you are able to speak more clearly and get your message across. If you can, devote some time to health and diet regimens. Relationships are calling for your attention and for some clarity about boundaries. Don’t avoid this. Set what works for you and let the other person respond to your boundaries, instead of the other way around. Get some rest on the Memorial Day weekend.
