Edward Moninger, 68, died March 11 following an extended illness. He is survived by his partner, Jeff, of nearly 38 years; his mother, Margie; brothers Rick and Dwayne of Pittsburgh; and a host of friends whose lives he touched immeasurably. Owner of one of Houston’s oldest gay bars, EJ’s, and the In-N-Out nightclub, which opened in 2006, Moninger was a generous and tireless supporter of Houston’s LGBT and AIDS communities. A visitation was held March 15 at Bradshaw-Carter Funeral Services, with a celebration of his life on March 18 at EJ’s.
